Estate agency with a twist
In September 2022, Edison Green opened the doors to our new office and concept located in the heart of Southampton City Centre. We did this with a genuine wish to add something valuable and positive to Southampton’s High Street whilst also innovating the way we buy and sell property.
Our new concept is simple – it’s focused on relationships and community with the intention of making estate agency more transparent. Much like our values for Edison Green which encompass honesty, transparency and relationships. It’s the latest reason which sets Edison Green apart from other estate agents in Southampton.
Earlier in 2022, the lease for our office was up and we set out on a mission to find a new office. We knew we wanted to do something different – with our values and clients in focus. Our current home on 126 High Street was vacant, in a fantastic location with huge potential. However, we have never wanted to be your outdated agent in a worn office further emphasising the traditional estate agency stereotype. The COVID-19 pandemic taught us the power of hybrid-working where our most important assets were internet connection and mobile phones. We know the service we offer is unique and different and we needed an office that reflected this,
126 High Street in its original form was however too big for a traditional estate agent office, which is why we decided to enlarge the family business and combine the things we love; property, great coffee and mums cakes. From this, the idea became to turn the upstairs into a coffee shop and the downstairs into a private office space with private meeting facilities.

Every single day we speak to clients who want to buy, but might be looking for something specific that is not currently on the market or who are waiting for that perfect property to become available. We meet people from all walks of life; local, national and overseas investors, locals and visitors. We have quickly become an established place for local property professionals. It means we have the opportunity to market your property to a variety of professionals who might have the right buyers for your home, which is particularly useful for sellers who have struggled to sell with another agent. This also means we have the opportunity to market unique properties that need more attention or a different strategy to just simply uploading it to Rightmove.
Informal environment
Selling your property is often people’s most valued possession and we know the stress and emotions that come with it. We also know that as a seller or buyer, the last thing you need is stiff and uncomfortable environments. If you come into our office, you will be greeted with speciality coffee and a variety of homemade cakes or artisan pastry. Depending on what you want, we can discuss your plans and situation with some light jazz background music whilst overseeing Holyrood Church or in one of our separate and private meeting rooms. Talking to your estate agent should feel easy and relaxed with no barriers as opposed to the off-putting feeling you might get walking into an office with every desk and person facing you.
Community
We are incredibly proud of the community we have built with local residents and professionals across Southampton. Opening up Edison’s has only further enhanced this and increased our reach, which means anything you need – we will probably know someone who can help. This can range from interior designers, staging, solicitors, mortgage brokers, architects, gardening to trades people and everything in between. We are meticulous when it comes to recommending anyone to our clients, and as a seller you will never be forced to use anyone we recommend. To us the important thing is to be able to give suggestions and unblock issues for our clients.
